A published Northwest Arkansas pool builder guide puts a complete fiberglass installation at roughly $60,000 to $120,000 or more. That is a broad planning range, not a price for a particular yard. Pool size, access, rock excavation, decking, fencing, equipment, and electrical work can move the final total considerably.
For a complete fiberglass pool installation, according to a local builder's published guide. Verify scope and obtain written bids.
What should the bid include?
Ask every builder for a line by line scope. A low headline number can be misleading if the surrounding work is missing.
- Pool and installation: shell size and model, excavation, delivery, setting, backfill, plumbing, filter, pump, and startup.
- Site work: access for heavy equipment, haul-off, rock removal, drainage, retaining walls, and restoration of the yard.
- Surroundings: coping, concrete or paver decking, fencing or barriers, lighting, electrical, and any heater or automation.
- Administrative details: design, permit applications, inspections, warranty terms, payment schedule, and change orders.
Why NWA projects vary
Two homes a few miles apart can have very different site conditions. A sloped lot, limited access for a crane, or rock encountered during excavation can require added work. The same pool shell can also have very different finished budgets once decking and features are included.
Ask whether each quote is for a swim-ready project and have the builder write down allowances for items that have not been selected yet. Keep a separate contingency for unknown ground conditions; no published range can resolve those before a site visit.
Permits and contractor checks
Permit requirements depend on the property's jurisdiction. Bentonville publishes a swimming pool permit checklist, and Fayetteville lists swimming pools in its building permit process. If you live outside those city limits, ask the appropriate local building office. You can check contractor licensing with the state.
Questions to take to pool builders
- Which exact shell model, equipment, decking area, and finish are included?
- What happens if excavation reveals rock or water? How are changes priced and approved?
- Who obtains permits and schedules inspections?
- What fencing, electrical, landscaping, and yard repair will I need to budget separately?
- What are the payment milestones, completion assumptions, and warranty responsibilities?

We use publicly posted ranges as a starting point and explain their limits. This is not a survey of signed NWA contracts. Prices should be confirmed with current local bids.
